BQ25890: Can BQ25890 enter shipping mode when it has plugged in?

Hi team,

My customer have a question about BQ25890.

When they use BQ25890 connected to USB, then they set REG09=60, phone powers off and then repeat the "restart" action but can't restart.

I want to confirm:

When BQ25890 has plugged in adapter, then set BATFET_DIS bit=1, can device enter shipping mode successfully? And can device maintain in the shipping mode?

If so, why the phone powers off and repeat the "restart" action?

    Could you please provide the operating conditions such as VBUS (voltage at VBUS pin), IVBUS, VBAT (voltage at BAT pin), IBAT, VSYS, ISYS and all register readings for each step in your descriptions?

    [REG_0x09]: BATFET_DIS bit 0→1

    [REG_0x0b]：Charging Status Fast Charging → Not Charging

    [REG_0x0e]：VBAT 3.624V→4.164V

    [REG_0x0f]：VSYS 4.244V→4.242V

    [REG_0x11]：VBUS 6.2V→6.3V

    [REG_0x12]：ICHG1.9A→0A

    And what I want to confirm firstly is that when BQ25890 has plugged in adapter, then set BATFET_DIS bit=1, can device enter shipping mode successfully? And can device maintain in the shipping mode?

    Lillian,

    The register settings look normal. When the host set BATFET_DIS bit, the charger should turn off BATFET immediately to enter ship mode. Please feel free to double check on the EVM.
