Hi Ray,
The letter "B" in the product name, such as LM117H/883B goes back a couple of decades. Back then, the mil standards required the current revision letter of 883 be included in the product name. That requirement ceased with rev. C and hasn't been done in decades.
The LM117x/883 products are manufactured, tested and qualified to the mil class Q flow MIL-PRF-38535 and MIL-STD-883. Class Q has replaced Class B.
