TPS61175-Q1: TPS61175-Q1 - Output current

TPS61175-Q1 has a fixed current limit, with the range from 3A(min) to 5A(max).

In you design please always make sure the required power FET current is not greater than 3A. And please use ILIM=3A in formula (8) to calculate the max Iout, that's the maximum guaranteed Iout(less than 3A).

For my application, I need Iout of 3A.

Is this TPS61175-Q1 is suitable.

If not, kindly suggest a similar boost converter capable of sourcing a load of 3A.

TPS61175-Q1 is not suitable for a 3A Iout application.

You may use TI tool Webench to select another device. Or please provide Vin Vout in your application and then we can propose the more suitable devices.

Vin is a output from SMPS of 5-5.5V

Vout - 12V(fixed)

Iout - 2.5 A

Iout(max) - 3A
