BQ24770: max duty cycle

What is the max duty cycle when operating? Could you comment if bq24770 can support 4S battery (16.8V) from 19V input? Thanks!

Hi Sam,

BQ24780s is a a similar but newer IC. I would recommend looking at BQ24780s.

For BQ24780S, I would recommend keeping it under <90% buck duty cycle.

The customer prefers NVDC. Could you suggest a suitable solution for the following specs, thanks!

Input voltage: 19-24V

Battery 4S: 10.4-16.8V

Max charge current: 3.5A

Hi Sam,

BQ24770 should be good for their purpose. However, I would recommend ordering your customer an EVM through internal sample so your customer can test it out in a setup that is similar to their application system. It is always good to do so before design commitment.
