TPS7A8300: TPS7A8300 Design Questions

Part Number: TPS7A8300

Hi,

Tps7a8300 outputs 2.5v/2a, and 20ns ringing occurs during load 0a-0.3a. What are the reasons? Loop or PCB? In the tps7a8300 specification, does CFF have to use 10nf? What will be the impact of removal?

  • Hi Sam,

Your image didn't attach correctly. To insert an image all you need to do is paste it right in the text box or use the insert feature.

On what board are you testing this? 50MHz ringing is well outside of the LDO bandwidth so it must be parasitic LC ringing.

Cff does not need to be 10nF. Adding a Cff typically increases the bandwidth of the device and so improves transient responses. Not having a Cff will not result in ringing like you are seeing.

    Regards,

    Nick
