TPS563201: load regulation and thermal performance of PCB

Hi Team, 

during test on EVM, below are two questions. 

1. load regulation seems not good. 

based on datasheet fig21, Vout should be within +/-1% with load changes. But during test, Vout drops from 3.3V to 3.2V when load changes from 0 to 3A. 

2. thermal of EVM seems not good 

12Vin to 3.3Vout, 3A.  temp of EVM goes to ~110C.

    load regulation- test method, test condition(steady state or load transient),test point

    thermal issue - test method, test point(which part of EVM raises to 110C), better for uploading image from thermal imager.

    please kindly help check below. 

    1. load regulation. 

    It's 3.3Vout. we modify EVM, just change R1 to 33kohm.  test point is TP6 and TP7. below is test result. 

    2. thermal. 

    It's 12Vin to 3.3Vout, 3A.  top case of IC is ~110C on EVM.  Please kindly check if EVM's thermal performance is actually such condition.

    TPS563201 uses DCAP2 topology. So at light loading, you can find Vref voltage is a little higher than CCM mode. so at light loading, the Vout voltage is a little higher. 

    For the thermal performance, do you have another board? Please check another board again. 

    If you want to have a good load regulation and thermal performance part. It's suggested to use TPS563249.
