LM5166: Additional Output Capacitance

My customer is considering LM5166 and has a question.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

The customer is using the reference circuit in the attached data sheet.

(Figure 52. Schematic for Design 1 With VIN(nom) = 24 V, VOUT = 5 V, IOUT(max) = 500 mA, FSW(nom) = 100 kHz)


The TPS73633 is connected after the LM5166.

The regulation of the output voltage (5V) is bad, so they're thinking of adding a ceramic capacitor (220μF) .

I think that there is no particular problem in operation because it is COT.

It is assumed that the DCM is likely to occur due to the large capacitor capacity, and that the rise time will be long.

Are there any other concerns?
