UCC27524: Output Failure

Hello,

I am using the UCC27524 and I am experiencing several failures...  I am not exceeding any of the datasheet specifications on the inputs or outputs...

The failure mode includes VDD shorting to GND;  and the device becomes unresponsive.


Is there perhaps a more robust part that TI offers?  Or other solution to this?

    Hey Aaron,

    There is a driver called UCC27624 that seems to be exactly what you are looking for; it is the next generation part in this family designed specifically for robustness. This document may be useful for you, it is about UCC27614 but the content still applies as the two devices are in the same family.

    Thanks for the information!  Wow, this UCC27624 part looks amazing!  An app note about pulse transformers or paralleling FETs could be of use in the future...
