TPS2112: Eco-plan of G4 devices

Part Number: TPS2112
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS2115, TPS2114, TPS2113, , TPS2116

Hi team,

The datasheets of TPS2112, TPS2113, TPS2114 and TPS2115 show that the Eco-plan of below devices are TBD.

  • TPS2112PWRG4
  • TPS2113PWG4
  • TPS2114PWG4
  • TPS2115PWRG

Could you kindly share the status of this column? Are those compliant with EU RoHS requirements for all 10 RoHS substances?

Best regards,

Kurumi

  • Hi Kurumi-san,

I have reached out to the appropriate teams for this information, however the answer is proving elusive due to the age of the device.

Is there a reason your customer is preferring the G4 OPN?

Alternative devices such as the TPS2112A will have a faster switchover time versus the TPS2112. That being said, both the TPS2112A and TPS2112 are around 20 years old and the TPS2116 would be the better option here as far as availability/resources/support.

    Best Regards,

    Elizabeth

  • Hi Elizabeth-san,

    Thank you for researching.

Is there a reason your customer is preferring the G4 OPN?

Actually the customer has been considering this family (TPS211x/A). Since it is getting difficult to purchase ICs due to delivery situation, they'd like to have alternative options such as G4 OPN.

I found a thread stating that the devices with/without G4 OPN are identical, and G4 indicated “Lead Free” or “Green” (here). Does it mean G4 OPN is Green, but not compliant with EU RoHS requirements?

    Best regards,

    Kurumi

  • Hi Kurumi-san,

After aligning with the backend team, I have discovered there is no TPS2112PWRG4, and the inventory appearing on the product page is a glitch likely double counting TPS2112PWR supply.

That is to say, TPS2112PWR is our updated OPN.

With regard to alternate devices I would again recommend the TPS2116 as our new low voltage power mux and the best avenue with regard to availability/resources/support

    Best Regards,

    Elizabeth

  • Hi Elizabeth-san,

    Understood, thank you!
