BQ76200: BQ76200 Charge Pump UVLO

Part Number: BQ76200
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76940, BQ76952

TI Experts,

I see BQ76200 can support high side switch with BQ76940. One question need your help:

In BQ76200 datasheet "Charge Pump Control" chapter, it said "Otherwise, the CHG and DSG do not turn on if the charge pump voltage fails to ramp up above UVLO."

I wonder, if Vbat is lower than 8V or somewhat threhold value, can charge pump ramp up above Vbat by 9V?

Since I tested if BQ76952 is connected with 7V voltage, the charge pump still can ramp up above Vbat by 12V.

I'm sincerely hope to your comments!

  • Hey Jiatu,

The UVLO and UVLO rec thresholds are internal design features mentioned in the data sheet and application note https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/slua794, but they are not characterized parameters included in the EC table.  Additional data on these is not available.

Testing would need to be done to determine the voltage at which the driver can handle the number of FETs you are planning to drive.

    Thanks,
    Caleb
