BQ76930: Question about BQ76930

Part Number: BQ76930

Hello:

The bq76930 chip is used on the 8s cell. The phenomenon is that the voltage of the seventh string is low after multiple cycles of charging and discharging of many modules

This is the current measured by the ammeter in series (0.7ma)

This screenshot shows the power consumption of the seventh string. The test condition is that after the total positive power supply of the chip is disconnected (equivalent to the module is shut down, we take the power of the discharging MOS). The power consumption of the seventh string is very high. Why is it so?

  • Hi Jimmy,

To rule out the possibility that you just have a defective/ damaged IC, you should replace your current IC with a new BQ76930 IC.  If that does not solve your issue, and the current is still high, then you will need to methodically check your system to see if any other components are showing damage and where current is flowing.

    Best,

    Andria
