TPS61160A: Maximum output current

I want to use TPS61160A IC for my Backlight in the touch panel.

My input voltage is 12V and I want 75mA output current and 21V output voltage so that I can achieve full brightness.

So, my question is whether this IC can give 75mA at the above input condition and output condition with 20uH inductance.

Hi Vishal,

I think TPS61160 can't meet your requirement since it only has one channel with 20mA max current.

Could you please send me more about your working conditions so that I can recommend the proper device for you?

Working conditions include: 1) How many channels do you need; 2) What brightness control mode do you want

I have 3 channels in which each channel has 7 leds whose forward voltage drop is 3V and forward current is 25mA.

Hi Vishal,

I think TPS92380 is a better choice for you.

Hi Vishal,

Yes you can. The output current per channel is up to 120mA so you can change it to 25mA per channel as well.

Max current of TPS61160 is only 20mA, can't meet your requirement.
