It means that if the data read does not match, then the host that is reading the data must stop with an error indication to the user. The host system will need generae some kind of error indication.

The app note is written with the intention of end customers writing their own firmware to upload to the gauge, so you can provide any error message you would like when writing the uploader. If you are using BQStudio we report a compare failure.

You can also use slua801 for reference as well.

Section 5 of that application report says:

"If the byte sequence matches, continue, otherwise stop (error)."

Could you tell me exactly what kind of condition "stop (error)" is? If it doesn't match, does the gauge send No Acknowledge bit or Stop bit?

Does the operation of the compare command mean that the host writes to a register, reads the register, and compares the written value with the read value?

In order to perform the same operation as the compare command described in df.fs, is the following procedure correct?
1. Read a register using the Read Command.
2. Compares the read data with the written data in the application program.
3. Notify an error if they do not match.
