LM2673: Using only 1 input and 1 output

Genius 9880 points
Part Number: LM2673

Hi Team,

If I will be using only 1 input and output of this IC, what would be the connection of the unused input and output? Can it be left floating?

Thank you.

Regards,
May

  • Hello May,

Why couldn't you short these pins together on PCB to share the current through the pins?  By the way, I need to double check with our design team to see if these pins are internally connected.  If they are, then the unused pins can be left open.  To be safe if you want to decide now, you may place a 100k from the non-used pin to GND to prevent possible floating nodes on the circuit.  You can decide later to not populate these resistors after my confirmation of the internal connections.

    Thanks,

    Youhao

  • Because there is no update for more than a week, may I assume the issue has been resolved and close the thread here?  You are welcome to re-open it by adding a new post.

Thanks and good luck in your project.
