TPS6594-Q1: Could you check Buck1,2 output voltage level?

Hi,

I recognized TPS65941213-Q1 Buck1, 2 voltage was not 0.8V but 0.86V.

We expected it's voltage is 0.8V.

AP(TDA4VM-Q1) which is TPS65941213-Q1's Load 's maximum input voltage is 0.84V

so I think it will be problem.

TPS65941213-Q1 is using NVM that TI programmed.

Could you check

1. Why TPS6594 Buck1,2 voltage isn't 0.8V?

2. Can we use this voltage for AP?

Hi Jihoon,

Where was this voltage measured? It is best to measure this voltage at the POL caps closest to the BUCK feedback. Also please ensure that the BUCK feedback receives a clean signal from the POL in order to have the most accurate voltage at the processor. The pmic is set to show an overvoltage error if the voltage rises to 0.85V.

I think the reason why is AP uses AVS mode.

that's why PMIC output voltage was high than I expected.

Am I right?

And below things are New measurement followed your recommendation.

1. PMIC output (the nearest output cap) : 0.8602V

2. PMIC feedback pin (probing point is IC's pin) : 0.8512V

3. Load (the nearest AP) : 0.8565V

Hi Jihoon,

The TPS6594-Q1 does have AVS ability. The target voltage of the rail can be checked through I2C, by checking the BUCK1_CTRL register and the BUCK1_VOUT_x registers.
