Hello Support,

I have seen the reference design of TPS62130AQRGTRQ1 and want to convert 12V to 5V,3A output.

Since it is a buck convertor what minimum input current is required with 12V input voltage?

Since it is not linear regulator I think it does not required 3A minimum input current?

Hi Dhaval,

If I understand your question correctly you are asking what the input current will be at 5Vout, 3A Iout?

You can use the efficiency for these input/output conditions to estimate the input current.

Assuming 1MHz operation with a 2.2uH inductor.

Since Efficiency = (Pout/Pin) , then Iin = (Vout * Iout) / (Efficiency * Vin)
