TPS62870-Q1: Programming

I see that the datasheet for the TPS62870-Q1 states that "Register contents remain intact as long as the input voltage remains above 1.4 V."

I was planning on using this device to generate a 0.9V rail. Does the output voltage have to be re-programmed every time the device is powered?

Hi Andrew,

That is correct. if device supply is off it will reset and set for default setting. You have to program again.

I have a 0.9V rail at 5.76A (max). Input is 3.3V (nominal).

This is one of the core rails for a programmable device, so it has to come up at 0.9V. An initial programming before the first power-on is acceptable, but I have no way to program the device every time. A PROM on the board to store settings would be acceptable as well.

Do you have a suggestion for a different device? I have both height constraints (1.85mm) and the space on this design is limited.

Automotive Qualification is not necessary. I do need -40 to +85C temp range.

Understood. thanks for clarification.

One option is to place resister to optimized the output voltage from default value. We are looking into future device releasing similar output voltage release.
