I found an opportunity to promote TI 6A WV Buck to a automotive application and LM61460-Q1, LMQ61460-Q1, and LM63460-Q1 are three candidates for this opportunity.

LM61460-Q1 should be the lowest cost option but the customer also wants to know what is the benefit if they choose LM63460-Q1 or LMQ61460 rather than LM61460-Q1? The customer cares Iq and EMI performance typically and if there are other benefits please also help share your comments.

Hi Shawn,

The LM61460-Q1 is the base part using a HotRod package. The LMQ61460-Q1 is equivalent but has integrated input capacitors -- this provides better EMI performance at high frequencies. Finally, the LM63460-Q1 is a more thermally efficient ("Advanced HotRod QFN") package with a GND thermal pad ("DAP") that allows via connections to the GND planes of the PCB. This provides better thermal performance and easier PCB layout. The Iq performance should be the same for all parts.

My customer wants to know if it is possible to use 2pcs LM61460-Q1 in parallel to achieve a higher load current solution? I have recommended the customer to use LM61495-Q1 but considering the price gap the customer wants to check the feasibility of 2pcs LM61460-Q1 in parallel first.
