Hi Expert,

My customer have question about TPSM82866A and TPSM82823. They used TPSM82866A and TPSM82823 in new project. But output current design change, they have to output 8A.

So customer want to stack TPSM82866A and TPSM82823 and output 8A. Is it worked?

Hi,

No, this is not possible to just connect the outputs together since there is no reason the 2 devices should equally share the current. Then, one will operate in current limit and the whole system will not work. This app note discusses more: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/slva250/slva250.pdf

Instead, I would recommend a higher current device such as TPS62870-Q1.

If you don't need to go to production soon, we may have other devices in development which could be used. You can email me your requirements in this case.
