BQSTUDIO: BQ20Z80 does not included on BQSTUDIO

Hi,

Good Day.

Customer purchased the EV2400 and downloaded the BQSTUDIO software and attempted to use it with his battery, but the battery chip is not listed on the BQSTUDIO.

His battery uses BQ20Z80.

Hello Ray,

bq20z80 is an old product. bqStudio does not support it.

bq20z80 uses bq Evaluation software and requires EV2300.

Good Day. As we check, EV2300 is now obsolete and according to the post below, EV2400 is replacement. Any advise on how the customer can use BQ20Z80, EV2400 and BQStudio at the same time. Thank you very much.

Hello Ray,

If customer just want to get SBS data from the bq20z80, then it is possible to use bqStudio. Manually choose any bq40z50 and then change bqStudio preferences to show Advanced view. This will allow selection of registers to read on the GUI. Choose the SBS compatible registers and read.

If customer wants to read/ change data flash, then bq Evaluation software is required. MKST-3P-ALT-EV2300 is an alternative to EV2300 but requires installation of additional software to work with bq Evaluation software.

If customer has limited changes then customer can also use the Advanced communication tab in bqStudio to communicate with the bq20z80
