TPS92612-Q1: LED Driving configuration

Part Number: TPS92612-Q1

Hi,

My question is on TPS92612-Q1. Does this LED driver support the below configuration?

Typical Vf (LED)=2.35V and maximum current that I am sourcing 44mA from Out pin of the IC.

Can PWM pin of the IC can be connected directly to supply if PWM Dimming control feature is not used?

Appreciate a quick response.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Vikas

  • Hi Vikas,

I think it is. The device supports the above configuration.

and when PWM pin of the IC can be connected directly to supply, it means PWM is always high.

  • Thank you Hailee.

Such How many pairs of Parallel LEDs (3LEDs in series) can be added as maximum on OUT pin?

  • Hi Vikas,

TPS92612-Q1 has a high Junction-to-ambient thermal resistance(200.7℃/W), it is not suggested to use in a high output current condition.

if you want to improve the thermal performance, we recommend to add a parallel resistors(Rp) between IN and OUT.  you can refer the typical application in datasheet, if the output current is set to 150mA without R(p), V(supply) is 5V, P(device)=0.384W, so pls be careful to balance the thermal performance and output current setting.

At the same time, we have a new device which has one channel output with high output current and better thermal performance, if you want to learn more, pls email me.

    BR,

    Hailee.
