BQ40Z80: BQ40Z80

Part Number: BQ40Z80
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO, EV2400
  • Hello, in the process of the whole machine simulation, as long as the battery starts to discharge, suddenly the battery enters a strange mode. Is it communication interference or other reasons for this phenomenon? The screenshot of the battery is shown in the figure below.
  • Hello,

It does look like something is causing communication issues. Make sure there are no other hosts broadcasting on the communication lines with the EV2400 connected, also check the EV2400 connection is in the SMB port. The gauge could also be in ROM mode which will cause strange communication in BQStudio. You can exit ROM mode by sending command 08 in the advanced communication tab.

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller

  • Hello,

Thank you for your reply, what are the reasons for entering this mode? Since our chip is encrypted, there is no way to send a command to exit the ROM. Is there any way to solve it?

  • Hello,

If the gauge is sealed it should not enter ROM mode, that is correct. That means it may be one of the other items I mentioned.

Also what cell count are you configured for?

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
