BQ27742-G1: More explanation on SMSYNEN and SmoothEN

Part Number: BQ27742-G1

Hello Sir:

Our end customer wants to know if SMSYNEN is set, would this affect the remaining capacity value?

It looks like it will cause differences between true and reported values to be corrected immediately rather than smoothed out.

The other can you provide more explanation on SMSYNEN and SmoothEN?

Or can you help to figure out which guide line we can refer to?

Looking forward your feedback.

Thanks a lot.

  • Hello,

There's no documentation on SMSYEN bit neither in TRM nor in FW.

As for the SmoothEN, if this bit is set, it will report the smooth version of capacities and SOC. That is, the standard SBS registers report filtered values when this bit is set.

Please refer to 2.1.4 in TRM

    Regards,
    Jose
