TPS25940: Is the TPS259401A-Q1 an alternative for the TPS25940A

Part Number: TPS25940

What are the differences between the TPS25940A and TPS259401A-Q1?  I am having trouble purchasing the TPS25940A and it looks like the TPS259401A-Q1 has limited availability and can be used as a alternative.  This will be for pre-production testing only as I would like to go into production with the TPS25940A.

  • Hi Davey,

Thanks for reaching out. Please refer this table from datasheet to understand differences.

  • Please re-read my question.  I am asking for the differences between the TPS25940A versus the TPS259401A-Q1We are having trouble with finding stock for the TPS25940A but we can find stock for the TPS259401A-Q1.  So, I am trying to evaluate if the TPS259401A-Q1 is an alternative for the TPS25940A.

  • Hi Davey,

That table I shared highlights difference, row 1 and row 3. Yes you can use 259401A as an alternative.

  • Hi Kunal,

I still think our wires are crossed.  The TPS25940A is in it's own data sheet and is the consumer/industrial version of the component.

The TPS259401A-Q1 is in a different data sheet and is the automotive version of the TPS25940A and/or TPS25940L.

I think the answer is yes but I want to make sure that you are comparing the TPS25940A (the non-automotive version) WITH the TPS259401A-Q1 (automotive version).  It seems that you are doing the alternative comparison with the device comparison table only in the automotive version of the data sheet. I am of the opinion that the Q version is merely a more qualified version at a silicon / packaging level for higher reliability required for the automotive market.  I just want to make sure.

    Davey

  • Hi Davey,

Sorry for confusion. Yes you are right in your understanding. Automotive version is AEC-Q100 qualified. Here is the electrical difference:
