TLV1117LV: TLV1117LV33DCY design review

Part Number: TLV1117LV

Hi Team,

My ctm use TLV1117LV33DCY in their design, SCH is as below, input 5V, output 3.3V to supply MCU, but they found occasionally, MCU VCC will short to GND, that means output exceed 4V. Did you see any risk in below LDO circuit? Input 470uf + 100nf, output 22uf + 100nf.

  • Hi Holly,

Thank you for sharing this with us.

Is it possible to share a scope shot showing a startup waveform of Vin (before and after the Diode), Vout, and possibly Iout as well? If Iout is not doable, perhaps describing how much is the MCU demanding. Also, what is powering the LDO? I see an inductor and a diode in series. It is quite more common to see a diode like a 1N4002 from out to in to protect the LDO from a short circuit event.

Besides this, I do not see any concern on the schematic.

    Best,

    Edgar Acosta
