BOOSTXL-TPS650861: I2C pull up voltage

Part Number: BOOSTXL-TPS650861
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS650861,

Hi,

Kindly clarify what is correct pull up voltage for I2C ?? 1.8V or 3.3 V ??

As mentioned in the datasheet of TPS650861 the pull up voltage should be 1.8V but the same I2C pins are pulled up to 3.3V in the  BOOSTXL-TPS650861??

Regards,

Ashish

  • Hi Ashish,

If you refer to the recommended operating conditions section of the TPS650861 datasheet (page 8) it states the recommended maximum voltage for the I2C pins (CLK & DATA) is 3.3V. For the I2C connections you are free to have the pull up voltage be either 1.8V or 3.3V, whichever fits better in your end system.

    Best Regards,

    Garrett
