TLC5916: Individual Current control per channel

Part Number: TLC5916
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP5861

Customer is looking for a 15ch brightness control for LED driver. the PWM dimming is 1KHz.

Is there device that is able to support individual current control per channel? It means that the each current channel can be independent control and programmable.

  • Hi Brian,

TLC5916 doesn't support individual current control per channel.

We do have some device that support analog dimming for each channel. For example, you can check LP5861, which is a 18-channel LED driver that supports analog dimming for each channel. But I am not sure about the customer's current / voltage requirement.

Could you please provide more detailed information so that I can make a better suggestion? For example,

    1. What is the current requirement for each channel? How many LEDs are in series / parallel?

    2. What are the available power rails?

    3. What lighting effect / application does the customer want to achieve?

    Best Regards,

    Steven
