LM5175: Question about max output current

Part Number: LM5175
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5176

Hello team,

My customer have a question about max output current of LM5175.

Even though LM5175 is a buck controller, why max output current of LM5175 is limited at 20A while LM5176 has no specific max current?

Best Regards,

Austin

  • Hello Austin,

Thanks for reaching out. The LM5175 is not a buck controller, it's a buck-boost. Can you please share where in the datasheet you found the information about the maximum output current please? We're looking forward to hearing from you.

    Kind regards,
    EM

  • Hi EM,

Yes, it is buck-boost. Sorry for confusing.

Anyway, the customer found from not datasheet, but product folder. And also, we can find this by sorting with Iout(max).

    Best Regards,

    Austin

  • Hello Austin,

Thanks for your feedback. We are working on changing this selection table, so please do not take into account the parameter 'Iout(max)'. Both the LM5175 and LM5176 are controllers that support external MOSFETs, so the current capability depends on the chosen MOSFETs. Please let us know if further support is needed.

    Kind regards,
    EM
