Hi,
We are using LMS1585AIS-3.3/NOPB converter in one of our design. I have attached an schematic for this converter which we have design. Please review the schematic and provide your feedback.

Hey Sonali,
Your circuit looks correct.
However, because the datasheet specifies polarized capacitors, it makes me think that this part may need a minimum ESR to be stable.

There is no mention of it in the datasheet but it may be a safe choice to include a space for a small resistor to compensate for ESR (usually in the mOhm range) or to use an electrolytic capacitor instead of a ceramic one.
If you want to stick with that specific package, it may be best to switch to a part that has more documentation.
Best,
Juliette
Hello Juliette,
In our application we can not use tantalum or aluminium capacitor.
Thanks,
Sonali
Hello Juliette,
Right now the output current is approx 500mA.
Current on 3V3 suuply can increase to 1A as our full application design is not final yet
Thanks,
Sonali
Hey Sonali,
The part can support those loads.
My question was is the current coming from an outside source and being fed into the input of the LDO?
Best,
Juliette
