TPS65400: TPS65400 is not recognized by PI Commander

Part Number: TPS65400
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: USB2ANY

Hello,

we are using TPS65400 (powering a Xilinx Zynq7000), and we have TPS64500 programming issue. We use USB2ANY programmer. Our problem is that the PC based PI Commander PMU software does not recognizes the TPS65400 (the USB2ANY was found).

We connect the USB2ANY via a three pin header which contains only the I2C signals (gnd, scl, sda). On the board the Vin is provided to TPS65400 during programming, the CE pin is unconnected.

Now we can program the TPS65400 via USB2ANY explorer software and it works as expected so the USB2ANY programmer and the TPS65400's I2C interface is OK. Sending the cmd and data bytes one by one through the USB2ANY Explorer's general interface is not effective and easy to make a mistake so we would like to use the PI Commander.

If we try to connect to TPS65400 via PI Commander we see some signal changes on I2C pins but there are low frequency signals and they are definitely not I2C.

My question is what can cause that the PI Commander does not recognize the TPS65400? The EV board uses a 30pin header; maybe there are missing signals in programmer header for the PI Commadner to recognize the PMU?
