LM7481-Q1: what is the benefit for LM7481-Q1 compare to the LM5060-Q1 and load dump protection design

Part Number: LM7481-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5060-Q1, , LM5060, LP8860-Q1, LM7480-Q1

Hi Team,

  1. My customer is wondering what is the benefit if we use LM7481-Q1 compare to the LM5060-Q1 when design a Input Protection with load dump design with 12V and 24V battery ?
This TI design shown a great protect perform by LM5060. https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/tiduc41/tiduc41.pdf

  2. Another question is, for a 12V battery system, the load dump is generally clamped at 35V ; in a 24V battery system, the load dump is generally clamped at 60V.
If now we are designing a 24V battery project, and plan to using our LED driver LP8860-Q1 which have Input Voltage Operating Range can only up to 48 V(Absolute Maximum Ratings up to 52V) then how to design the LM7481-Q1 protect point ? Set the OV point below 48V ?  Any advise will be appreciate.

Thanks!

Kai
