TPS54160: The voltage of PH

Part Number: TPS54160

Hi Team,

Is the voltage drop across the diode 0.7V? Will this damage the TPS54160?

If the reverse spike of PH is too large, do I have to add an RC snubber to make it less than 2-V? Thanks.

Regard, Charlie

  • Hi Charlie,

The voltage drop across the diode is 0.5V, because we often use schottky diodes in high frequency applications.

If the reverse spike of PH is too large, you can add an RC snubber between Vin and PH to make it less than 2V. But it still recommend to pay attention to the cabling when drawing Layout to avoid this problem.

  • Hi Aurora,

    Thanks for your support.

Please confirm: is an RC snubber circuit added between Vin and PH or a snubber circuit between PH and ground? Thanks.

What's more, My customer is testing SS310,

The forward voltage drop of the SS310 is too large to apply, right?

  • Hi Charlie,

You can add an RC snubber between Vin and PH or PH and ground. Which one is better needs to be try by customers according to the actual situation.

The SS310 is too large to apply, The SS38 or SS36 is enough.

    Best Regards,
