BQ2000: BQ2000PN-B5: Do I need to add a gate resistor?

Hi Team,

I'm thinking of connecting a MOSFET to the MOD pin output and driving it, but would it be better to add a current limiting resistor to the gate? I want to be able to drive at a speed of about 500kHz.

There is no maximum output current value written in the data sheet of the IC. What is it?

Also, I would like to refer to the datasheets of other parts, but how should I connect the gate resistance in such a case? Is it better to include it or not? Thank you very much.

Hi Tom,

Please refer to this document for reference design. MOSFET is also a part of the calculation, I recommend to test out timing/transient behavior on your board first, then you will have a better estimation.

I read the attached document, but there was no sentence about the resistor connected to the gate of the MOSFET.
Can you tell me if it is necessary to connect a resistor to this part at the design stage, and if so, how should I calculate it?
