I have a design where I would like to use the TPS562207S buck-converter.
The buck-converter is supposed to output 5 Volts and is being driven by a voltage source that can drop to as low as 6 Volts. From the datasheet I understand that the maximum duty-cycle of the IC is 80% with the recommended maximum duty-cycle being 75%. In my case; dropping from 6 Volts to 5 Volts would mean a duty-cycle of roughly 83%.
My question is how the device-behavior changes when the maximum duty-cycle is reached. Would the device be damaged or would the output voltage simply drop to the value that corresponds to the maximum duty-cycle (about 4.8V in this case)? If the IC is not damaged by being used this way, the 200mV voltage drop would be tolerable in my case.
