UC1843A-SP: UC1843A-SP

Part Number: UC1843A-SP
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UC1843A

Hi,

I am planning to use UC1843A-SP for the flight model in my design. Before using it, I will use UC2843AN or UC2843N for the prototype instead of UC1843A-SP. I didn't see detailed information in the datasheet for  UC2843AN and UC2843N product series.

Could you please explain the differences between UC1843A-SP, UC2843AN, and UC2843N? Do you think that UC2843AN and UC1843A-SP are compatible? Can I use UC2843AN in my prototype without changing any design parameters instead of UC1843A-SP?

Thanks in advance

  • Miray,

    The devices are near equivalents.

The UC1843A, and UC2843AN are based on the same silicon design.
Differences will include testing, screening, qualification, packaging, and tested temperature range.  Electrically they should be similar.

However, a better option may be to utilize the EM version of the UC1843B

The UC1843B is an improved radiation performance version of the UC1843A.

    See: https://www.ti.com/product/UC1843B-SP/part-details/UC1843BHKU/EM

    And www.ti.com/.../UC1843B-SP

The EM option is a lower cost, non-qualified version of the UC1843B, and is suitable for prototyping.   This will eliminate any variations introduced from the packaging parasitcs.   Additionally, identical footprints.
