LP2992: I wonder LP2992 Output Voltage!

Part Number: LP2992

HI!

I`m looking for the LDO regulator.

Vin = 5V to Vout = -5V

LP2992AIM5-3.3/NOPB use Vin = 5V to Vout = -3.3V.

LP2992AIM5-5/NOPB is Vin =5V to Vout =-5V correct.

What does NOPB mean?

Vin=5V to Vout=-5V Can you recommend a product?

Thank you!

  • Hi Lee Sang,

Unfortunately an LDO cannot invert the input voltage. I think the confusion may be stemming from the nomenclature of the device. The "5" in LP2992AIM5-3.3/NOPB, and the first "5" in LP2992AIM5-5/NOPB refers not to an input voltage, but to the tape and reel quantity/size.

If you are looking for a negative LDO with an output voltage of -5 V, TPS7A39 might be a good fit. It has an output current rating of 150mA.

If you need higher output current capabilities, TPS7A33 is a negative LDO that is rated at 1A of output current.

    Regards,

    Kelsey

  • Hello,

As Kelsey mentioned in this case we might suggest an inverting supply. Could you please clarify the current needed in your system and the full input voltage range? We're looking forward to hearing from you soon.

    Kind regards,
    EM

  • Hi Kelsey,

as we have not received an additional information, I assume this issue is solved and I am closing the thread.
If there is still something open, just reply to open it again or open a new thread.
