Hello team,

I have a question about the internal circuit of BTST and REGN.

According to the block diagram, BQ24133 has built-in bootstrap diode. However, what is the meaning of the external diode from figure 10-5? How does it affect the operation?

    Hi Austin,

    The purpose of bootstrap diode is to allow forward charging BTST cap and prevent leak to REGN. Internal diode is usually sufficient for typical applications. But for higher frequency or bigger BTST cap, you may want to add external diode. It is optional.
