Could you please tell me the difference between energy limit and thermal shutdown? I think these two functions are same, so I don't understand why we add energy limit function here?

Hi Sherry,
Yes they're similar in terms behavior. But for fault event such as short-to-GND, as the energy dissipated so fast, the device might take a lot energy before the temperature rises to the shutdown level. Energy limit is just to shutdown the part faster to protect the FET in such event.
