BQ34Z100-G1: BQ34z100-G1 Design Energy

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ34Z100

Hello Team,

So the design energy for our battery is Design Energy-6600mAh*48V(Nominal)=316800 mWh. We are trying to set up the BQ34Z100 IC for a 54.6V Li-Ion battery,6600 mAh.

How do we scale this to fit within the maximum value and also what is

1) Reserve Energy

2) User Rate

Will this affect the State of Charge Reading?

Thanks

  • Hello Bhanu,

Scale is a multiplication/division factor applied to the readings. See TRM section 3.2.5 Design Energy Scale

    1. Reserve energy is the energy that you want as a reserve when SOC goes down to zero. This allows system to operate at 0% SOC to allow saving data or other application related critical tasks.

    2. User rate is the load.

    Both affect SOC
