LM5069: how to disable current limit and power limit

Hi expert,

My customer is using LM5069 in their project and work as over voltage Protect.

And they do not need the current limit and power limit function.

it is described in 8.1.3, that it needs a proper Rs connecting VIN to SENSE. then customer wants to know, if they do not need current limit,

can they connect SENSE to VIN directly, or what value of the Rs you will suggest?

Similarly, if they don't need power limit function, does the Rpwr important? can they use any Resistor they have?

Hi Emma,

Thanks for reaching out!

To disable current limit, connect SENSE to VIN directly

and use large Rpwr resistor (470k Ohm) to set high power limit value.

Alternatively, you can suggest simple device like LM74502-Q1 for OV protection.

Thanks for your answer and your recommendation for LM74502.

but the voltage range of LM74502 is not enough for my customer's application.

they need at least 80V, better to have 100V. Do we have a part to work with this?

TPS48110-Q1 is another option. It does OVP and has voltage rating similar to LM5069
