Hi,

Good Day.

As the customer is using the LM63615DQPWPRQ1 in our design, they are testing it for Transient Pulse 1B as per the ISO 6737-2, so the maximum voltage will have appeared across the device is 43.5V for 2ms - after every 5s for 500 repetitive pulses.  

As the maximum absolute rating of the device is 40V, so can device withstand the Pulse 1B of 43.5V for 2ms. Can you please specify the behavior?

    Hi Ray,

    A pulse of this magnitude may cause damage to the device since this pulse is outside the absolute maximum voltage rating of the device. 

    A higher input voltage rated part like LMR36520 would be a better choice for these operating conditions.
