Hello Guys,

have you got a reference design for using the Power Management IC's for power up the Sitara processor?

I'm aware about the application note "Using LP8733xx and TPS65218xx PMICs to Power AM64x and AM243x Sitara Processors". Have you got more information for reference?

Hi Brenda,

is SK-AM64B suitable to implement TSN Gigabit Communication? Especially is this board prepared to implement Profinet Conformance Class C?

Hi Sebastian,

The SK-AM64B EVM offers two ethernet ports of 1Gigabit speed for external communication. See capture from the user's guide below. I'm also adding the link to the processors E2E forum where you can post any technical questions related to the AM64 processor.

Hi Brenda, I see. I've written my issue to the other forum but I got an additional question to the PMIC solution.

Is the PMIC solution implemented at SK-AM64B suitable to supply Sitara AM6442 for full functionality? Is therer any reason why you haven't implemented this solution on Development Board TMDS64GPEVM ?

Hi Sebastian,

The PMIC solution was not available when the TMDS64GPEVM was designed. This EVM supports more functionality compared to the SK-EVM and will require more power rails and more current on the 3.3V IO to supply not only the processor but also all the peripherals that require 3.3V. The TPS65219xx PMIC (or TPS65220xx) will cover most of the AM64 rails like VDD_CORE, VDDR_CORE, VDDS_DDR, VDDA_1V8, DVDD_1V8 (up to 2A) and the 2.5V for the DDR4 VPP. The remaining rails specially for the system peripherals can be supplied with discrete regulators.
