UCD90320: Synchronisation issues with UCD90320 in Fusion Designer

Part Number: UCD90320

Hello,

I'm trying to configure some LGPO pins on the UCD90320.  Sometimes the software gets into a state where any changes I make to the logic don't take effect in the device once I "Write to hardware" and "Store RAM to FLASH".  If I click "Refresh all Parameters", I suddenly find two instances of an LGPIO with different configurations, see below where pin L4 appears twice:

In the above image, L4 is at the top and bottom of the list with a different configuration for each instance

I'm running Version 7.7.1 of TI Fusion Digital Power Designer.

I cannot be confident that the project's configured logic is being correctly implemented in the sequencer.  Are you aware of this issue?

  • Hi

Do you still see the same issue after reset UCD?

we are not aware this particular issue. Could you try Fusion- GUI 7.7.8 [beta]?

    Regards

    Yihe

  • Hi Yihe,

Thanks for the suggestion.  I've upgraded to 7.7.8 and will see whether I encounter this issue again (I've not found a way to reliably reproduce it).

Regarding the suggestion of  reset, how should I go about implementing any changes to the LGPO outputs on the UCD90320 in the Fusion software?  Should I be using the following approach?

    • Make Changes in Fusion Digial Power Designer GUI
    • Write to Hardware
    • Store RAM to Flash
    • Device -> Soft Reset Device
    • Device -> Refresh all Parameters

Please let me know if I should be doing something different.

    Many thanks,

    Pete

  • HI

As for reset proposed in the previous reply, it is to ensure that there is no out of sync between GUI and device.

if after a reset, what GUI reported still does not match what you intended to do. it means that GUI mess up the configuration. otherwise it is just a sync issue but the device shall be configured properly.

As for the LGPO, the LPGO may not function as expected after configured which is up to how the logic is configured . so a reset is always recommend after configuring a GPO. but this is not the problem you are facing.

I saw you have another threshold asking something similar.

I will close this threshold and reply there.

    Regards
