LP2986: Shutdown and Error pin logic

Part Number: LP2986

Hi Team,

Our customer would like to clarify about the function of the output and shutdown pins of LP2986IM-5.0/NOPB. According to our customer,

When the SHUTDOWN pin is LOW (Regulator Disabled), is the Dropout Detection ignored/disabled since VOUT<95% in this condition is not a fault. The testing I have performed shows that even though the regulator is shutdown, the ERROR output is not active (remains HIGH) with Vout (at zero/disabled) less than the threshold approximate -5%.

Hence,

SHUTDOWN LOW---> (VOUT < 95%) ----> ERROR PULLED HIGH, since this is not a fault condition.

SHUTDOWN HIGH---> (VOUT < 95%) ----> ERROR PULLED LOW, since this is a fault condition.

Is this expected.
