UCD90160A: How to re-sequence/restart the UCD90160A with GPI input pin.

Part Number: UCD90160A

We are trying to perform a power cycle restart using the GPI fault option via GPI#1 pin. After issuing the external interrupt to GPI#1 pin our entire power should shut down based on our defined Power Down sequence and should restart the Power ON sequence.

Kindly let us know, How to configure the Device UCD90160A, For the above requirement

  • Hi

GPI can not restart the power on sequence until GPI is asserted again.

In other words, if GPI is configured as ACTICE HIGH, GPI HIGH->LOW, it can shutdown the system but it won't restart until GPI LOW-HIGH.

You have to do this in the GPI config

    1. configure enable the GPI fault

    2. select rail to shutdown, you can only select on rail here which is the first one to be off

    3. select the proper action for the fault. refer above snapshot for step 1-3.

    4. set the rest rails as the fault shutdown salves of the rail selected at step2

    These shall be sufficient.

    Also, let us know

What is the maximum programmable delay we can achieve between soft-off and ON during resequencing either through PMBUS CMD or GPI?
