TPS61379-Q1: Can the device dynamically switch between synchronized clock and internal clock?

Part Number: TPS61379-Q1

I have an device where the TPS61379-Q1 would need to be synchronized to an external clock when the device is in an active mode. When not in active mode, no clock will be provided.

The datasheet doesn't provide almost any information about the external synchronization mode. So I can't figure out what will happen if the clock is provided, and then suddenly not provided. Will the TPS61379-Q1 automatically switch to its internal clock? What would this transition look like? Can the external clock be supplied once again at a later point? Or is the mode latched at some point?

  • Hi questioner,

For the TPS61379, the synchronize signal can be provided or removed at any time.

when there is clock, it will be synchronized, when there is not, it uses its internal clock.

There may be some dynamic at the transition.

Please be careful the clock should be within spec.

    Best Regards
