Hi,
Please, Do you have an SO16 version of the UC2825?
We have the SO8 footprint on the PCB, but its too narrow for the UC2825 which is SOIC16.
Is there any equivalent chip that we can put on the pad?

Andrew,
I don't understand why you are asking for SO16 package if your PCB footprint is made for SO8 (16 pin PWM onto 8 pin PCB decal?)? Nonetheless, to answer your question, yes, we do have UC2825 in SO16 (DW package). Below are all the available package options from the UC2825 data sheet and I've captured the SO16 options in the red box..

Sorry , i meant we have a footprint for SO16, and we need to fit the wider SOIC16....is there some way round this?
Andrew,
What you are describing requires a revision of your PCB. If you want to proceed to evaluate with the PCB you currently have, how about a PCB coupon/adaptor card? You can easily make your own or even kluge something from perf board/copper in the lab. Otherwise, how about something like this adaptor board from Aries Electronics? Aries has many other adaptor options on their website but be careful to study the pin pitch, footprint and all mechanical dimensions against what you currently have. Also be mindful of the parasitic inductance introduced by installing a PWM controller this way. Signals such as RT, CT, COMP, CS are especially noise sensitive and may require additional signal filtering/conditioning as a result of using an adaptor. Gate drive current may be reduced and PWM performance may not be as good as when mounted directly onto the PCB but this approach should allow you to proceed with your hardware test/evaluation.
