Hi, my question is about BQ34110.

I am looking for battery guage that is suitable for single cell NIMH (cell voltage 1.2V).

does BQ34110 fit for single cell NiMH ?

Hello Afzal,

Single cell NIMH (cell voltage 1.2V) voltage is not sufficient to power the gauge, so it cannot be used. At least 2.45V voltage is required at VREGIN.

in your knowledge is there any Battery guage that is suitable for single NiMH cell ?

what do you think about BQ26231? in case if i use boost converter to power the Chip, and BAT ground with BAT- ?

should it work ?

Hello Afzal,

I don't think there is a suitable gauge for single cell NiMH. BQ26231 assumes cell voltage = supply voltage. You will need to scale the voltage to a higher value rather than just boosting for power supply.
