Hello,

I assume by silicon drive you are referring to a bootstrap circuit. If so, we try to recommend using a transformer bias supply due to the stability as you mentioned. The bootstrap circuit is easier to use but has a higher chance of problems in design.

There is no clear answer for this question, but generally speaking our recommendation is for a transformer bias supply.
