TPS61098: Can it boost 3.3V output from 3V input?

Part Number: TPS61098

I have 3V as input and i need 3.3V as output using "TPS61098" i tried in real life it only pass the input to the output and no boosting action.

Can somebody help?

I was planning to buy "TPS610986" but there were no stock and "TPS61098" was a replacement option.

Hi Malek,

What's your load current? Do you have any waveforms to show the behavior in this condition? Like VIN VOUT SW voltage? Thanks.

And more, TPS61098 VOUT is fixed to 4.3V not 3.3V.

I have uploaded pictures of the schematic, Thank you for your feedback. i understand now that TPS61098 output cannot be other than 4.3V.

Hi Malek,

Why do you set R3=10k? It's too large. I think it doesn't make sense. Do you want to simulate any special condition?

Yes i agree with you it's too large, I was trying to represent the whole system total resistance, I put it without doing the proper calculations, can you advise a learning material for this topic? Thanks in advance

Hi Malek,

Sorry that I can't get you about the meaning of "whole system total resistance".

If you want to use the resistance as load, it should be parallel with output cap. A resistance in series with the cap is used to simulate ESR of the cap, generally it is milliohm.
